What to do in Penang in 3 days? Trust us, there are many things to do in Penang, Malaysia, and most of them don’t include sitting idle at one of George Town’s hipster cafes, or sitting on one of Penang’s best beaches.

Food Must try in Penang

Siam Road Char Koay Teow. You can taste the charcoal-flamed, dark-sauce, oil-glazed flavorful plate of flat rice noodle filled with wok hei. As it is a very famous store, long queue is unavoidable.


Penang Big Bowl Ramen Noodle. If you are traveling to Penang and looking for something different than the usual Char Kuey Teow, Assam Laksa or Penang Rojak, maybe you can try the Penang Big Bowl noodle. They recommended the Braised Pork Belly noodle for three pax. Here is the thing, no matter how big the portion you order, the bowl is still that huge.


Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul. Their gula melaka is extremely fragrant, so be sure to request for less-sweet if it’s too overwhelming. Unlike some other stalls, their red bean texture is just right, firm and not mushy. 


Jiao Sai – Penang Supper Place. For those who go for late night eats in Penang, I am sure you have patronized Jiao Sai, the supper spot is renowned for its signature stir-fried and soup based instant noodles.


Toh Soon Cafe 多春茶座 @ Campbell Street, Penang. Toh Soon Cafe is a small coffee shop situated at a back lane along Campbell Street that serves a variety of bread and toasts, homemade Hainan coffee and nasi lemak. The uniqueness of Toh Soon’s toasts is the preparation method by using a super old charcoal stove.

Kek Lok Si Temple. Founded more than a hundred years ago, the complex is filled with beautifully-landscaped gardens and sacred temples. The complex is divided into three zones while the temple grounds comprise the hill entrance, souvenir, food and drinks stalls and the turtle liberation pond. The mid section of the temple houses temples, gardens, the pagoda and the four heavenly kings pavilion; meanwhile the hilltop plays host to an enormous statue of the Goddess of Mercy, Kuan Yin as well as more gardens and temples. 



Next Stop, Penang Hill. Penang Hill was the first colonial hill station developed in Peninsular Malaysia. The most popular way to the top of the hill is the Penang Hill Railway. rom the top of Penang Hill on a clear day you can see the mountains of Langkawi and north Kedah but it is the night time sight of lit-up Georgetown that is especially rewarding. Also, penang's adaptation of the popular love lock concept around the world.




Batu Feringghi. One of Penang’s most popular destinations. Batu Ferringhi consists of a long stretch of soft, white sandy beach along a winding road named Jalan Batu Ferringhi, filled with a host of accommodation and dining options.
